In addition, Halkidiki has 49 campsites with a total capacity of 15.465 beds/places.

At Sunday September 2, heavy rainfall and hail caused flooding in the south of the Kassandra peninsula. The area of Siviri and Nea Skioni were hit the worst by the floods. Trees, vehicles, houses and roads were damaged by the floods.

The prefecture of Halkidiki is found in a state of emergency as a direct result of the forest fires that are raging in southern Greece since 24th of August.
The forestal regions of the prefecture are continuously monitored by the Rescue Teams with the collaboration of volunteer residents and hunters.

According to EFFIS, the European Commission’s European Forest Fire Information System, 183987 hectares of forest was burnt between 24 and 26 August, during the forest fires that have ravaged Greece.
